Papaw Hugs are the BEST!

We love our Papaw!!
Yesterday Noah and I spent most of the afternoon at Aunt Renee's playing with his cousins!  Papaw came by for a bit and we had lunch together.  We are so lucky that our family all lives so close and we can visit all the time!

Noah's first time on a swingset! Kate wanted to push him :)

He thought the whole thing was just hilarious! ;)

Elle is standing all by herself! Such a big girl!

Reese can do it, too!!

We had a playdate last week with friends in Greenwood! Emily was nice enough to let Krista and me come over with our little ones and wreak havoc on her home!  Noah doesn't love the hour drive down there, but he definitely had fun with his friends :)

Oliver and Noah got to work right away!

Emily is showing off her muscles holding those two big boys!

Sweet Vivian needed some quick snuggles from her momma :)

Harrison and Brooks are showing the other 3 how to share!

Making sure the toys at Emily's house taste like the toys at our house!

Back at home, showing his true colors!

Still loving the toy that Emily is letting us borrow for a few months!

LOVING the nice weather and spending time on our porch!

Daddy's slipper...why not have a taste?!

Peek-a-Boo!!!

Clearly up to no good...

So excited for our favorite game...
Bury your face in the blanket!! Yayyyyy!!!  I'm not sure what it is about blankets, but Noah cannot resist burying his face in it, and he thinks it is the best thing ever when Daddy does it with him!!  Oh, and Daddy's bald head is the result of having a newborn during med school ;)

WARNING: NAKED BABY PICTURES!!

He may kill me when he is 16, but I can't resist those chubby little fat rolls! And really, it's his fault that he crawls away from me every time I try to dress him or change his diaper - although I must say I have become quite the pro at changing him on the move :) :)  Bath time is his absolute favorite time of day, and I just love taking pictures of him when he is so happy!!

I should also note that I weighed him on my home scale this week, and he weighed in at a whopping 24 lbs 4oz! Geez! No wonder my arms have been getting so buff! haha :) We'll see how accurate that is in a few weeks when we see his pediatrician for his 9 month checkup!

My other new favorite thing is that he is giving kisses now (when he feels like it)!  They are open-mouthed, tongue out, and super slobbery, but I'll take it! He is so proud of himself when he does it that he just has to clap :) :) :)

He gets so excited when I start filling the bath that he stands here and watches as he bounces up and down and screams.  I have to undress him while he stands there because there is no way he would let me lay him down!

BIG SPLASHES!
This bath ring has been a life-saver! It started working for us once he started sitting up really, really well.  If I let him take a bath not sitting in the ring it is a constant battle to keep his head above water because he wants to crawl and put his face in! He does try to climb out, but it is still SO much easier to handle bath time when he is somewhat contained!!

Such a ham :)  And check out his 3 top teeth - they look so goofy to me!

We still use those hooded towels every day! Thanks again, Aunt Nae!!

That cute naked butt is crawling away from me (as he does every night) after his bath!

Time to try and get dirty again! That cannot feel good...

The Coaster.  AKA the new favorite teether.
Did I mention he's a ham?!

And gets into EVERYTHING!

Playdate with Katelyn Kenney! It was so fun to watch them play together! I didn't get a picture of when she first came over, but they sat face to face and babbled and grabbed each other, like they were both just so curious about the other one! Too cute :) It's definitely going to be a fun summer playing together!

They were pretty good at sharing, except when they tried to knock each other over :)

Katelyn is about 2 months older than Noah, and while he weighs a little more she is definitely taller! She was teaching him her moves with the walker, too!

Best Buds :)

All Caught Up!! And it's the 8th Month! :)

I truly cannot believe how quickly these last 8 and a half months have flown by!  Last year at this time I was starting to get swollen and uncomfortable - and now here I am with a wild little boy that I never in a million years knew I could love this much!  Last month he started saying "Mama," but I told Ben that we aren't counting it as his first word, because he only says it when he is whining for me to pick him up! I want to make sure that he is actually referring to me when he says mama before I call it his first official word - but Ben says I've earned it and deserve for mama to be the official first word! Haha we'll see, I guess!

Our latest challenge is all about feeding - I have officially decided to quit breastfeeding.  Even typing it on here I feel guilty about it - my goal was to do it for just a few more months, and then the frozen milk would get us through the rest of the year.  At least, that was my plan until he bit me. And drew blood. Ouch! is all that I can really say about that!  And unfortunately when I sternly tell him "No," he laughs at me! So after I tried once more the next day and he bit me again, I decided that it was the end - time to move on! Most people don't even last this long, right?! No matter what logic I use I still feel guilty about it, but I know he will survive and it won't kill me to buy a few cans of formula until he turns 1! Hopefully the milk I froze will last us a while :) :)

Our other current feeding challenge is with real food - he loves his pureed foods still, and he will eat crackers, yogurt, waffles, and a few other goodies, but for the most part he refuses anything with texture! He gags at almost anything that goes in his mouth - so I keep trying different things and hoping against hope that I don't have a super picky child!!

I should also mention that Noah started "big boy crawling" last week - up on his hands and knees!  He still loves to army crawl, but at least he is doing it both ways now!

Ben finished his last final of his second year of school a week ago, and he took a few days off to spend time with his family.  I can't even explain how good it feels to have him back - even just for a couple of days before he hits the books again to get ready for his first board exam!  I know he misses spending time with Noah, too, but he is so good about taking time each day to play with his son so he doesn't miss out on anything!

He was supposed to be napping, but he discovered that he could not only stand during play time, but in his crib, too!!

He was proud of himself - notice the mobile he knocked over on the end of the bed??

I straightened it back up - I think he is trying to decide the best way to knock it down again :)

We took advantage of the beautiful weather earlier this week and walked to Clay Terrace to have breakfast at Paradise Bakery

I wanted to take pictures, but Noah wanted to eat the camera...therefore, the next few pictures are out of focus, but I still love them :)

Huh?

Always eating Cooper's toys!

This is the last time he nursed - and I needed a picture of how sweet his face looks because that is what I will miss most! If this weirds you out, I'm sorry. Well, not really...

Ben tried to keep him awake so I could see him when I got off work...but Noah couldn't resist the blanket, and daddy couldn't resist those rare snuggle times with our active baby!

I had to work on my very first mother's day, so daddy and Noah came to visit me downtown! Noah kept grabbing for my drink, so I let him play with the straw - couldn't figure it out, though! He just needs more practice :)

Sweet, sweet piggies :) Or piggums!
